2. What this website does
AutoTyp.ch provides Swiss Typenschein lookup, vehicle type information, technical vehicle data and non-binding vehicle tax estimates.
The website does not provide user accounts, login, payment processing or public upload/import functions.
3. Personal data we may process
When you use AutoTyp.ch, the following data may be processed:
- technical server logs
- IP address
- date and time of access
- requested URL
- HTTP status code
- browser and user agent information
- referrer information where available
- search queries entered into the Typenschein search
- Typenschein values entered or selected
- canton selected for vehicle tax estimates
- manually entered tax-estimate values, if you use manual calculation
- security and abuse-prevention metadata
- optional analytics data if you accept analytics cookies
4. No accounts and no payment data
AutoTyp.ch currently does not offer user accounts, registration, login, subscriptions, payments or checkout.
We do not process account passwords, payment card data or billing data.

6. Hosting and processors
The website is hosted on a VPS infrastructure provided by Hetzner Online GmbH.
Cloudflare may be used for DNS, proxying, security and traffic routing.
Server logs and technical metadata may be processed by these infrastructure providers as part of providing their services.
7. Analytics
Analytics is denied by default and is activated only after your consent.
AutoTyp.ch may use Google Analytics when the public configuration is set and you accept analytics cookies. Without consent, Google Analytics is not loaded.
Analytics is used to understand page usage and improve the website. AutoTyp intentionally does not send VINs, license plates, owner data, email addresses or raw search values to Analytics.

8. Cookies and local storage
AutoTyp.ch may use technically necessary storage for basic website functionality, such as language preference or interface state.
The site does not use advertising cookies by default.
9. Retention
Technical logs are kept only as long as necessary for security, debugging and operation.
Suggested retention:
- standard application/server logs: up to 30 days
- security logs: longer if needed to investigate abuse or attacks
- backups: according to operational backup policy
10. Data sources
Vehicle data shown on AutoTyp.ch is based on official Open Data from the Swiss Federal Roads Office ASTRA, imported into the application database and prepared for search and readable display.

The data preparation is used only for search, filtering and readable display of the data.
This data is type-level vehicle information, not individual vehicle owner data.
11. Data sharing
We do not sell personal data.
Data may be shared only where necessary with technical service providers such as hosting, DNS/security providers or analytics providers if enabled.
Data may also be disclosed if required by law or necessary to protect legal rights.
